Happy to play sport?

Today I saw my first smile.....

On the face of a baseball player.

And there was a somewhat interesting end to the game between the Cardinals and the Astros. I have seen a few games in the last week or so and have come to the conclusion that none of the players are happy. I have a few ideas that might help the game become a bit more interesting and then maybe we might see some enjoyment on the faces of the players.

1. The bat needs to be made bigger and with a larger flatter hitting surface.
2. The advantage is too much with the pitcher, he should be made to bounce the ball before it reaches the batter.
3. Every time the ball is hit the player is caught out. The fielders should not be allowed to wear gloves and batters should be encouraged to hit along the ground more.
4. The game is not high scoring enough, batters should be allowed to carry on batting until they are all out, not just three of them. You could shorten the distance they have to run too. Some where in the region of 20 yards should be long enough.
5. Some better fitting pyjamas might make the players feel a bit better too.

I think that should help make for a more exciting game.
